    According to the local context, select invasive species of interest based on their
    potential negative impact to local ecosystems or human activities. Determine the status
    of each invasive species in the city by measuring their range, total population, or impact
    as appropriate.
    Cities can use the methodology of the Horizon Scanning to forecast future trends and
    impacts related to invasive species within the municipality. In addition, the
    Environmental Impact Classification for Alien Taxa (EICAT) is a global standard on alien
    species impact assessment, mitigation measures and management actions.
